I have a background in illustration, animation and publishing. My practice is concerned with exploring the dialogue between thinking, drawing and making, alongside constructing narratives that play with truth and fiction. It relies on research; visual research rooted in our environment, but also reading – from poetry, through literary fiction, to non-fiction social commentary.
Throughout my time at the Royal College of Art, I sought to push the boundaries of what we consider to be illustration, weaving new stories from mythologies and histories through the marriage of appropriated materials with clay forms; printmaking, writing and spoken word to begin to construct a new narrative environment.
